Introducing Shayr: The Trusted Subscription Sharing Protocol

We built Shayr because friends were sharing Netflix passwords in WhatsApp groups — no escrow, no trust score, no protection. Here's how we fixed that.

We saw the problem every day in Kathmandu. A group of friends sharing a Netflix account through WhatsApp messages — passwords in plaintext, payouts based on goodwill, and disputes that ended friendships.

The existing solutions were either too technical for regular users or too informal to provide any real protection. We needed something that worked within the trust patterns and payment rails that actually exist in Nepal.

Shayr is our answer. It's a marketplace where every subscription slot is backed by AES-256 encryption, TOTP-gated access, and escrow payments through eSewa and Khalti.

The core insight was simple: make the credential invisible. Members never see the raw password. Instead, they receive a time-based one-time code that grants access for 30 seconds. The host keeps the credential secure, the platform audits every access, and disputes trigger automatic refunds.

We're starting with the most popular services — Netflix, Spotify, ChatGPT, Canva — and expanding based on demand. The marketplace is live now. Join the ring.
