Every payment product in Nepal eventually confronts the same question: how do you build trust between strangers when the legal and financial infrastructure is still maturing?
Our answer was to lean into the existing rails rather than build new ones. eSewa and Khalti aren't just payment methods — they're identity anchors. If a user has a verified eSewa account, they've already passed a KYC check. We inherit that trust.
The host trust score does the rest. Every time a host delivers access on time, responds within their stated SLA, and resolves a dispute fairly, their score improves. Every failure costs points. Over time, the score becomes a reliable signal — not because we say so, but because the market has tested it.
We also took a deliberate stance on dispute resolution. We don't arbitrate. We mediate with a 24-hour SLA and a refund bias: if we can't definitively prove access was provided, the member gets their money back. Hosts who lose too many disputes lose their trust score. Hosts who lose their trust score lose their ability to list.
The result is a marketplace where reputation is the bond. It's slower to build than a credit check, but it's more durable.
